Privacy Policy

This policy describes how YouFaceTik handles information when you inspect or download authorized media.

1. Overview

YouFaceTik is a media utility for content you own, license, or have permission to process. An account is required to inspect and download video. The image compressor may be used without an account within the displayed guest limits. The application does not maintain a permanent library of downloaded or uploaded files.

2. Information we process

When you sign in, Supabase and the selected Google or GitHub identity provider process authentication information. YouFaceTik receives the account identifier and email address needed to maintain your profile, subscription tier, and daily download usage.

When you use the video downloader, the server processes the media URL you submit, your selected quality and output format, and technical request information needed to return the file. When you use the image compressor, the server processes the images you upload and the format, quality, resize, lossless, and metadata options you select. Standard hosting infrastructure may record limited data such as IP address, browser type, request time, response status, and requested path for security and reliability.

3. Links, uploads, and media files

Submitted video links are used to request metadata and media from the source platform. The resulting metadata and temporary source URLs may remain in volatile server memory for up to five minutes so a download can reuse the successful inspection instead of contacting the platform twice.

Downloaded video and uploaded images are written to unique temporary directories. Image outputs may remove EXIF, GPS, camera, and editing metadata unless you select the option to preserve metadata. Inputs and outputs are streamed to your browser and deleted after the response finishes, disconnects, or fails. YouFaceTik does not intentionally retain copies after delivery.

If the local server is configured to use a browser session for a restricted video request, the media processor may read platform cookies from that browser profile and send them only to the same source platform for authentication. YouFaceTik does not add those platform cookies to the user profile or application database.

4. Cookies, local storage, and advertising

YouFaceTik uses browser storage to maintain your authenticated Supabase session and remember light or dark mode. Google and GitHub may use cookies or similar technologies during their sign-in flows under their own privacy policies.

If Google AdSense is enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies, device identifiers, web beacons, or similar technologies to serve and measure personalized or non-personalized ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this or other websites. You can manage personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. Where required, an advertising consent choice must be presented before non-essential advertising storage is used.

5. When information is shared

A submitted video URL and the request details required to retrieve it are shared with the platform hosting that URL and with network providers involved in delivering the request. Uploaded images are processed by the application’s hosting infrastructure and are not sent to a source-media platform. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect users and the service, or during a legitimate transfer of the service. YouFaceTik does not sell submitted URLs, uploaded images, or processed files.

6. Retention and security

Temporary video, uploaded images, and processed image outputs are deleted after the response ends. Operational logs, if enabled by the hosting provider, should be retained only as long as necessary for security, debugging, and abuse prevention. No internet transmission is completely secure; users should avoid submitting private links, credentials, or images they are not authorized to process.

7. Your choices and rights

You can stop processing by closing the page or cancelling a request, clear the saved theme through browser storage settings, reject optional advertising cookies where a consent control is offered, and avoid submitting links containing personal tokens. Depending on your location, applicable law may provide access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or complaint rights.

8. Children’s privacy

YouFaceTik is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Users must meet the minimum age required by their local law and the relevant source platform.

9. Third-party platforms

Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Google, and other linked services operate under their own privacy policies. YouFaceTik is independent and does not control their processing practices.

10. Policy changes and contact

This policy may change when the service, law, or advertising configuration changes. The effective date above will be updated for material revisions. Privacy questions may be sent to privacy@youfacetik.app.
